Christians' Counseling Dilemma
As the world and its lifestyles become more complex, Christians are divorcing and remarrying at an alarming rate.
Marriage, family and personal relationships are estranged
and broken by selfish expectations of others. Instead of changing selfish
behavior to heal damaged relationships, people are changing partners, families
and friends. Divorced and remarried families spend excessive hours and money in
court fighting for custody and visitation of their frustrated and angry
children.
Counseling that promotes worldly, self-centered
relationships is contrary to Biblical values and simply does not work for
Christians.
Biblical Counseling Psychology
Biblical counseling provides believers with God's principles
for establishing healthy fulfilling relationships.
At Reconciliation
Counseling Resource
Center, we practice
cognitive-behavioral counseling based on Romans 12:2, which exhorts Christians
to be changed by the renewing of our minds to learn God's will for us to live
by His model for healthy relationships.
In this process we help our clients understand the guidelines of Scripture as
they pertain to life's struggles. We work to enable our clients to model these
guidelines, namely to acquire the mind-set of Christ to produce unity and
harmony in marriages, families and friendships.
Reconciled relationships reduce stress from anger,
bitterness, hostility, resentment, and fear. Forgiveness promotes spiritual,
mental, emotional and physical well-being.
